Why should we go for IVF?
IVF means In-Vitro Fertilization, which is a type of assisted reproductive technology used to treat infertility. IVF is a procedure where the egg and sperm are placed together in a glass dish (in vitro) and then transferred into the womb.
IVF consists of several steps:
- Ovulation induction – A fertility doctor will give you hormones to make your ovaries produce more eggs than usual. You may also have an ultrasound to check when you’re most likely to release an egg.
- Egg retrieval – The doctor uses a needle to remove eggs from your ovaries during this procedure.
- Fertilization – The eggs are mixed with sperm in a glass dish in the lab and left for about 12 hours to allow the sperm and egg to meet and fuse together. This process is known as fertilization.
- Embryo transfer – Any embryos that have grown into six-cell stage embryos are transferred into your uterus using a small catheter (tube).
Reasons
When it comes to starting a family, there are many different paths that couples can take. For some, conceiving naturally is the best and only option. However, for others, fertility treatments like in vitro fertilization (IVF) may be the best option for starting a family.
So, why should couples consider IVF? Here are four reasons:
- You Can Have More Control Over the Process
With IVF, couples have more control over the process than with other fertility treatments, like IUI. With IVF, you can choose the gender of your baby, as well as when to have your baby. - It’s More Successful Than Other Treatments
IVF is also more successful than other fertility treatments. The success rates of IVF depend on a number of factors, including the age of the woman, the quality of the eggs, and the experience of the fertility clinic. However, overall, IVF has a higher success rate than other fertility treatments. - It’s Less Expensive Than You Think
While IVF can be expensive, it’s often less expensive than you think. Many insurance companies cover at least some of the costs of IVF, and there are many financing options available. - It’s a Safe and Effective Treatment
IVF is a safe and effective treatment. The risks of IVF are low, and the majority of women who have IVF will have a successful pregnancy.
If you’re considering starting a family, IVF may be the best option for you. It’s a safe, effective, and successful treatment that can help you have the family you’ve always wanted.
